AUGUST 26th (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.) Garn Press Author Celebration at the Strand Book Store in the Rare Books Room

This remarkable event will include a Readers Theater performance in which all attending Garn authors – fiction and non-fiction writers — will participate. Download the Event Cards (PDF).

Saturday, August 27th (10:00 a.m. – 12:00) Write On! Writing, Publishing, and Reading in the Time of Social Media at Mercy College Manhattan Campus

The Mercy College Manhattan Campus event will be a time for great conversations about writing and publishing. Garn Press anticipates that all Garn authors will be there to talk with writers of every age who would like more information about publishing at a time when a revolution is taking in the publishing industry. Download the Event Cards (PDF).

Sunday, August 28th  (2:00 – 4:00 p.m.) Writing for Parents and Teachers about Public Education and Corporate Education Reform at the Dolphin Bookshop in Port Washington, LI

Nearly all Garn non-fiction writers will participate. We expect a great conversation about supporting teachers, children, and the parents of children in public education at a time when public schools are being privatized, high stakes tests are negatively impacting the curriculum, and both teachers and children are unacceptably stressed. Download the Event Cards (PDF).

Wednesday, August 31st (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.) Mysterious Books at the Mysterious Bookshop

This is an evening author event.  Geoff Ward will talk about his novel You’re Not Dead and all Garn’s novelist will participate, including Ruth Finnegan, David Joseph Kolb, Marty Lee, and Denny Taylor. It is a culminating event and most Garn Press authors will attend. This will be an evening for wine and good conversation about imagination and the human spirit, and all aspects of our human story that are mysterious. Download the Event Cards (PDF).
